WOW! What a great way to start out the New Year of 2017 at the Santa Barbara Associates Annual Meeting! To think of all the possibilities we have ahead of us in the coming year is awesome!

We had a wonderful turnout for our May 12th program featuring Neal Graffy and Annie Dahlgren, who told us about their book A Murder at the Potter Hotel.

Our Board members have been working on various initiatives to improve and enhance SBA so it will appeal to�and be more relevant for�more of our
members. We’re exploring ideas for exciting programs, outings and projects that would be both meaningful and enjoyable for everyone.

The Programs Committee has put a lot of effort into bringing in speakers for our luncheons on the second Thursday of each month. I sincerely hope that many of you will attend these events, since they give us a chance to network, talk, laugh and learn

The Santa Barbara Associates started the year off with a bang! At the Annual Meeting, we chatted, sipped wine and enjoyed a lovely repast.

The recent brisk morninngs signal the approaching holidays, a favorite time of year to gather with friends, family, and professional
associates and celebrate the blessings of having them in our lives. Your Program Committee has planned wonderful events to provide the opportunity to connect with fellow Associates in an informal and fun way. Please mark your calendars, save the dates, and watch for newsletter and email announcements with further details.

We encourage you to bring prospective members to our monthly programs, and also to University Club events we publish in our newsletter, where you can meet and mingle with other professionals.

As we wind down summer and approach the Fall Season, so many gears are
set back into motion. Students of all ages, including some of you, are
furthering your education and setting your professional achievement bar higher; those task lists that languished during the heat of summer are dusted off and begin to make their climb up the priority list.

Early last month, your Board held a focus group session to review your suggestions made at the Annual Meeting.
